New Delhi, 28 October (Hindustan Reporter). Australia will get a new captain for the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan, as its Test stars will not be able to play in this series. The series will conclude the same week as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy campaign begins.
Josh Inglis, Adam Zampa and Matt Short have been included in the team for the T20 series against Pakistan. No current Test team player has been selected in the 13-man squad for the matches in Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart. However, Cricket Australia said that some of the selected players could join the Test squad for the series opener against India in Perth after the final T20 match at Bellerive Oval on November 18.
Fast bowlers Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis and Spencer Johnson are back in the squad after injuries sustained before or during the white-ball tour of England and Scotland in September.
Chief selector George Bailey said, “It is particularly exciting to have Xavier, Spencer and Nathan back in the national team. “This is another opportunity for him to showcase his ability on the international stage, as he has done in the past.”
Australia's T20 International team:
Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardy, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa.
