Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed happiness over the Indian team’s meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra. A team led by Rohit Sharma and Australia’s PM XI team met the Prime Minister of Australia in Parliament.

The Indian team is currently on Australia tour for a five-match Test series. India has taken a 1-0 lead by winning the first test match played in Perth.

He tweeted, ‘Big challenge for PM XI against a great Indian team at Manuka Oval this week. But as I told Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I am supporting the Australian team to win.

India defeated Australia in the first test

In the first Test played in Perth, India defeated Australia by 295 runs and achieved the biggest win by runs on Australian soil. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah played important roles in India’s victory. Virat scored his 30th Test century on Australian soil and seventh century in Australia. Acting captain Bumrah, who took eight wickets in the match, was chosen as the player of the match. Team India gave Australia a target of 534 runs at the Optus Stadium in Perth. In reply, the Kangaroo team was all out for 238 runs.

The team will take part in the practice match before the Adelaide Test.

The second test match between India and Australia will be played in Adelaide from 6 December. This will be the Pink Ball Test and before that the Indian team will play a two-day practice match against Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI starting from Saturday. Last time India’s performance in the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide was not good and the team was out for 36 runs in the second innings.
