Why are fuel prices increasing?
Several global and local factors are responsible for this fluctuation in fuel prices:
Global Conflict: The supply chain of crude oil has been affected due to the ongoing war in West Asia.
Dollar-Rupee Exchange Rate: Import of crude oil has become expensive due to weakening of Indian Rupee.
Logistics and Tax: Prices may vary by ₹5 to ₹10 in two cities of the same country due to distance from the refinery and different VAT charged by different states.
