Attempt to extort Rs 6 lakh from a girl by using the name of Akshay Kumar's company – News India Live

Mumbai: An attempt was made to defraud a girl living in Khar who wanted to work in films by using the name of actor Akshay Kumar's production company.

A fraudster told the girl that she would have to make her portfolio before working in films and it would cost six lakhs. However, the girl showed caution and contacted Akshay Kumar's production company and said that no such person is working with them. Then the girl and her family contacted the police, the police laid a trap and caught the fraudster.

According to the details received in this regard, the complainant Pooja Anandani lives in Khar. On April 3, Pooja got a call from an unknown person. The person claimed to be speaking from Akshay Kumar's production company Cape of Good Hope Films and said that his name is Rohan Mehra. Rohan said that he is making a film based on the Nirbhaya case and he has been selected for a role in it. After this he called Pooja to meet him near the ISKCON temple in Vile Parle.

When the man came to meet Pooja, he also brought a script signed by Akshay Kumar. Apart from this, many well-known stars are said to be working with Akshay Kumar in this film. Then he gave many tips and said that Pooja will have to make her portfolio. He said, for this a famous photographer will take his photographs and it will cost Rs 6 lakh to make a portfolio.

Pooja told Rohan that since the amount of Rs. 6 lakhs is high, she wants to discuss it with the family. After reaching home, Pooja contacted Akshay Kumar's PA Zenobia and clarified that no one named Rohan Mehra is working with them. Realizing she was being cheated, Pooja informed her family and lodged a complaint at Juhu police station. Upon further questioning of Rohan, it was revealed that his real name was Princekumar Rajan Sinha. Police have registered a case against him under other sections of the IPC including fraud.
