-6 arrested with 25 pistols, 90 cartridges
Ahmedabad, 26 April (HIST). Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested 6 people and recovered 25 pistols and 90 cartridges. All these weapons were brought to Gujarat through a travel agency running from Madhya Pradesh. Gujarat ATS is expressing the possibility of finding more weapons in the investigation of the case.
Gujarat ATS SP Harsh Upadhyay and his team have achieved great success by conducting a campaign against people illegally possessing weapons across the state. Especially in the areas around Amreli, Rajkot and Surendranagar of Saurashtra, information was received about people having illegal weapons. Based on this information the ATS team started surveillance. Search and inspection of private travel buses coming from Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat was started. Meanwhile, the police got information about a suspicious bus. When the police stopped the bus and interrogated them, the name of the accused was revealed to be Shivam alias Shiva Indrasingh Damor. During search of the bag of the accused, 5 pistols and 20 cartridges were found. During police interrogation, it was revealed that he drives a bus from Khambhalia to Madhya Pradesh every two-three days. Even before this, he had given many weapons to people one by one in the same manner. The accused told that he has contacts in many districts of Gujarat. On the basis of interrogation of the accused, the police also seized 20 other pistols. 70 cartridges were also recovered from them.
