I stopped security personnel from firing: Sheikh Hasina
Referring to the August 5 attack on her official residence in Dhaka, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘When armed protesters were sent towards Gana Bhawan, I did not allow the security personnel to open fire on them.’ If the security personnel had opened fire that day, many people would have lost their lives. I was forced to go. I told them (security personnel) that no matter what happens, they should not open fire. Today I am being accused of genocide. Whereas in reality Yunus has been involved in the genocide in a planned manner. The main conspirators of this massacre are the student coordinator and Yunus.
Yunus government failed to protect minorities
Hasina said the current ruling government in Dhaka has failed to protect the minorities. Covering the arrest of Hindu saint Chinmoy Krishna Das, he said, “Hindus, Buddhists, Christians – no one has been spared.” 11 churches have been demolished, temples and Buddhist temples have been destroyed. When Hindus protested, the ISKCON leader was arrested.
Hasina raised the question that why are these atrocities being committed on minorities? Why are they tortured and attacked? People no longer have the right to get justice… I don’t even have time to resign.
