Lucknow, 07 December (HS). Even cold could not cool the spirits of the athletes. In the district level athlete selection process, athletes of different age groups displayed enthusiasm and strength. With the passion to bring glory to the country and the state, these players were seen eagerly waiting for their turn in the trials. The Lucknow Athletics team selected on Saturday will participate in the 59th Uttar Pradesh State Level Cross Country Athletics Championship on 15th December. After the selection trial, Lucknow Athletics Association Secretary BR Varun announced the Lucknow team and wished the selected players a strong performance. In the under-16 age group, Krishna, Shubham Yadav, Prabal Kumar were selected in the boys category.
Regina, Payal, Rachna Maurya qualified in the girls category. Whereas in the under-18 age group, Saurav Kumar, Abdul Mukesh, Siddharth Sen were selected in the boys category and Preeti Yadav, Zion Barla, Sushmita Yadav were selected in the girls category. In the men’s category of under 20 age group, Anup Kumar, Nikhil Verma, Armaan Ali, Hasnain Aga, Saurabh Yadav, Mohd. Athar and Anishka Gautam were selected in the women’s category. In the open category men’s category, Islam Ali, Satyendra Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Gyanendra Kumar Rawat were selected and in the women’s category, Jyoti, Pratiksha Yadav, Ronam Verma, Seemar Singh were selected.
