Dharamshala, December 15 (HS). Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Pathania on Sunday laid the foundation stone of a memorial to be built in the memory of the children who lost their lives in the bus accident of 2018 in Gatla village of Thehar Gram Panchayat of Noorpur Assembly constituency.
He said that our society will become strong only when the youth come forward in the field of sports and promote sports. To keep the youth away from drugs, it is necessary to promote sports and to highlight the sports talents of players at the rural level, the state government is making every possible effort to develop infrastructure for sports.
During this time, while taking stock of the progress of the construction work of the children park and playground being built here, he asked for every possible cooperation in its construction. In this program organized by Jagriti Charitable Trust, Gram Panchayat Thehar and Baba Kiyalu Mandir Committee, the Assembly Speaker accepted the demands put forward by the members of the Trust and talked about construction of a road till the memorial and construction of the boundary wall of the children’s park. He announced a donation of Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand for the work being done by Jagriti Charitable Trust in the memory of the children here. He said that in future also the government will provide all possible support for the work done by the organization for children.
21 feet minaret will be built in the memory of children
Let us tell you, in the year 2018, 23 children traveling in the bus lost their lives in a school bus accident in Khawada village of Nurpur, out of which 10 children were from Gatla village. Shocked by the accident, the people of the area started some creative work in village Gatla in the memory of the deceased children. Pradhan Gram Panchayat Thehar Indu Bala said that Jagriti Charitable Trust, Gram Panchayat Thehar and Baba Kiyalu Temple Committee came up with the idea of building a community hall, children’s park, playground and memorial for the children here. He said that the community playground is ready, while the work of constructing the playground is in progress. u
He said that the height of the tower of the memorial which was laid today by the Assembly Speaker will be 21 feet and through this, tribute will be paid to all the children who lost their lives in the accident.
