Islamabad: Now the center of power in Pakistan has completely come into the hands of the Army Chief. General Asim Munir has taken over as the country’s first and most powerful Chief of Defense Forces (CDF). In this new role, he not only has the command of the Army, Air Force and Navy, but the control of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons is also directly in his hands. But he has started this historic responsibility with threats and innuendos.
In his very first address, without naming India, he warned India that the neighboring country should not remain under any kind of confusion or misunderstanding. Referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’, he said that if there is any aggression against Pakistan in future, its response will be “very swift and harsh”.
Now Asim Munir is the most powerful man of Pakistan
After the recent 27th constitutional amendment in Pakistan, Asim Munir has become the most powerful military ruler in the history of the country. They have got a constitutional shield which makes them above anything else. In his first speech at the General Headquarters (GHQ) after assuming office as CDF, Munir said:
“India should not be under any illusion. Next time Pakistan’s reaction will be even more swift and serious… No one can test Pakistan’s sovereignty, integrity or its resolve.”
Direct warning to Taliban of Afghanistan also
Munir gave a strong message not only to India but also to the Taliban sitting in Afghanistan. Referring to the banned terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), he said:
“A clear message has been sent to the Taliban regime that they have no option but to choose between supporting the unruly Khawarij (TTP) or standing with Pakistan.”
TTP is the same terrorist organization due to which the tension on the borders of Pakistan and Afghanistan is at its peak and violent clashes are taking place between the two countries.
New structure of army and future war
In his speech, Asim Munir described the establishment of the Defense Forces Headquarters (DFHQ), the new integrated headquarters of the three services, as a historic step. He said that although the three services will retain their internal autonomy, this new headquarters has been created to deal with future threats together.
Referring to the changing methods of warfare, he said that now the war is being fought in cyber space, Artificial Intelligence (AI), space, quantum computing and information battlefields, and the Pakistani Army will have to prepare itself for these new challenges.
Overall, as soon as Asim Munir took over the most powerful post of Pakistan, he has made it clear that his stance is going to be very aggressive. After taking command of the three armies and nuclear weapons in hand, his first warning was to India, which could further increase the tension between the two countries.
