India is continuously hoisting the flag in the world of sports. Indian sprinter Gulveer Singh has won gold medal in 3000 meter sprint in the Asian Indoor Championships. Gulveer gave India its fourth gold medal in the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships by winning the 3000 meter race on Monday, the last day of the competition.
Gulveer topped with a timing of 8 minutes 07.48 seconds. Kyrgyzstan's Keneshbekov Nursultan (8:08.85) and Iran's Jalil Nasri (8:09.39) won silver and bronze respectively. Earlier in the day, Ankita won a silver medal in the women's 3000m race with a timing of 9:26.22.
Before Gulveer, on Saturday, Tajinder Pal Singh Toor had won gold medal in shot put, Jyoti Yaraji in 100 meter hurdles and Harmilan Bains had won gold medal in 1500 meter race. Thus, India won four gold and one silver medal in the competition.
