The survey team is looking at the inscriptions kept in the fort and examining their handwriting and structure. The museum located in Dhar Fort is the only museum that was established during the British rule about 110 years ago, after the partition of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The survey team is also collecting information about whose inscription it is and when it was installed.

The Hindu community is claiming that the SI-preserved 11th century monumental Bhojshala located in Dhar district is a temple of Vagdevi (Goddess Saraswati), while the Muslim community calls it Kamal Maula Masjid. In view of this controversy, arrangements were made here by ASI on 7 April 2003. Under this arrangement, the Hindu community is allowed to offer namaz in the canteen premises every Tuesday from morning to evening, while the Muslim community is allowed to offer namaz in the premises every Friday from 12 noon to 3 pm.
