According to the Hindu calendar, Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month will start at 12:31 pm on Thursday, October 10. Ashtami Tithi will end on Friday, October 11 at 12:6 pm. In such a situation, there is confusion among the people regarding Maha Ashtami Puja of Navratri.
Dr. Madhusudan Mishra, Assistant Professor of Astrology Department of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, said that many misconceptions arise among people in various ways regarding the dates of Navratri festival. To solve this, an effort has been made to remove misconceptions from this university as per the calendar. He told that the fast of Ashtami and Navami will be on 11th October. Nisha Puja will take place on the 10th night itself during the Ashtami period of Nishith period. Havan should be performed on Navami Tithi on 11th October.
In some almanacs, Navami is after 7:30 am, in some almanacs it is after 11:00 am. In such a situation, Havan can be performed after 7:30 in the morning or in the afternoon on 11th October. He told that Vijayadashami festival is definitely on 12th October. Parana of Navratri fast is also appropriate after sunrise on this day. Dr. Mridul Mishra of Shiv Aradhana Samiti told that according to the Panchang, this year the Ashtami and Navami puja of Shardiya Navratri will be held on the same day on 11th October. On October 11, you can worship Ashtami before 12:6 pm and after that you can worship Maha Navami. Kanya Puja will also be performed on this day.
