Ashoknagar, April 5 (Hindustan Reporter) A major police campaign is going on in the district against illegal activities and illicit liquor. On Friday, while Chanderi police seized 120 liters of raw liquor, the city police seized 90 liters of raw liquor from an accused and arrested him.
In the district which has become the center of illegal liquor, the biggest campaign of the police is being seen so far against the traders of illegal liquor. The ongoing police campaign against illegal liquor has achieved record breaking success in the last 20 days. While during the last assembly elections, action was taken by seizing a total of 6 thousand liters of illicit liquor, in the last 20 days the police has set a record by seizing 27 thousand liters of illicit liquor.
Superintendent of Police Vineet Jain told Hindusthan Samachar on Friday that during the implementation of the code of conduct, action has been taken to seize 27 thousand liters of illegal liquor in the last twenty days. He says that apart from this, 120 kg of illegal ganja was also seized. While taking action against people indulging in illegal activities, 10 live cartridges were recovered and Rs 2.5 lakh was seized amid violation of the code of conduct. Superintendent of Police Jain says that this campaign will continue against the vigilantes involved in illegal activities and those involved in drug trade in the district.
