
In Sanatan Dharma, the festival of Navratri is considered the most sacred time to receive the immense blessings of Mother Bhagwati. Apart from the two direct Navratri (Chaitra and Sharadiya) that come in the year, there are also two secret Navratri, one of which is-Ashadh Gupta Navratri. This holy festival is starting from today i.e. Wednesday, 15th July 2026, which will be celebrated with devotion and faith till 23rd July 2026.
Gupt Navratri is considered extremely fruitful especially for tantra-mantra, difficult sadhana, secret attainments and mantra chanting. During this time along with the nine supernatural forms of Maa Durga 10 colleges Special secret worship of Goddesses (Maa Kali, Tara Devi, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshwari, Chhinnamasta, Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Baglamukhi, Matangi and Kamla Devi) is done, due to which the spiritual progress and worldly desires of the seeker are fulfilled very quickly.
Exact auspicious time for Ghatasthapana (installation of Kalash)
According to Hindu calendar, Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month has started on 14 July 2026 at 11:42 am and it will end today. 15th July 2026 at 08:20 am will be. In the scriptures, there is a rule to establish the Kalash within the Pratipada Tithi, hence the Muhurta is as follows:

Household devotees should worship Maa Durga with this simple method.
Often people have this misconception that Gupt Navratri is only for Aghoris or Tantrikas, but household devotees can also get special virtuous results by worshiping Maa Durga with full devotion.
1.Purity and establishment of the post:Step 1.
Get up in the morning before sunrise and take bath etc. Clean the north-east corner of the house or the place of worship thoroughly and sprinkle Ganga water. After this, spread a clean red or yellow cloth on a wooden stool.
2.Establishment of Maa Bhagwati:Step 2.
Install the idol or picture of Maa Durga, or the pictures of 10 Mahavidyas, on the post with devotion and meditate on the Mother.
3.Sowing barley and preparation of pot:step 3.
Put clean soil in a wide earthen vessel in front of the Mother Goddess and sow barley in it. Now fill a copper or earthen pot with clean water and add Akshat (rice), betel nut, Ganga water and a coin in it.
4. Kalash installation:step 4.
Place 5 or 7 mango leaves on the mouth of the Kalash. Wrap a coconut tied to a Kalava (Mauli) in a red chunri and install it on top of the Kalash. Place this Kalash in the middle of the vessel containing barley.
5.Akhand Deep and worship material:Step 5.
Light a lamp of ghee or sesame oil in front of the idols (if possible, light the Akhand lamp for nine days). After this, offer Roli, Akshat, red flowers, fruits, sweets and red chunari to the Mother Goddess.
6.Text and Apology:Step 6.
During the puja, chant ‘Durga Chalisa’, ‘Durga Saptshati’, ‘Argala Stotra’ or Mata’s Beej mantras with full devotion. At the end, perform Aarti of Maa Durga with camphor and with folded hands, ask for forgiveness for the unintentional mistake made during the puja.
