Dhamtari, July 31 (HS). After the stoppage of incessant rain, the farming work has gained momentum in the Dhamtari district. Farmers in the Dhamtari, Kurud, Nagari and Magarlod blocks of the district have become busy in weeding and transplanting. As soon as the weather cleared, farmers are seen in the fields. There was a ban on farming work for almost 10 days. Now the farmers are spraying fertilizers and medicines. The situation is such that laborers are not available in the villages for spraying medicine and fertilizers. The farmers who have already done transplantation are spraying insecticides.
The fields and barns have overflowed due to the continuous rain in Dhamtari district. Farming work had come to a standstill due to excess water. Now the farmers have heaved a sigh of relief. The rain has stopped for two days. The work of all the farmers has started simultaneously. In such a situation, the farmers are not getting agricultural labourers for spraying fertilizers and medicines. Many farmers are spraying fertilizers and medicines along with their families.
