Delhi Lok Sabha Elections 2024 : Before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has suffered a big blow, many party leaders including Congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely joined BJP in Delhi. It is said that Lovely has resigned from Congress due to anger with Aam Aadmi Party and India Alliance. Along with him, other Congress leaders have also joined BJP. Lovely has also been a minister in the Sheila Dikshit government. Lovely was appointed Congress president in August last year.
Five Congress leaders joined BJP along with Lovely
Today, when Arvinder Singh Lovely and other Congress leaders joined BJP, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva were present. Along with Lovely, Rajkumar Chauhan, Naseeb Singh, Neeraj Basoya, Amit Malik and former Delhi government minister Yoganand Shastri have also joined BJP.
Lovely's resignation due to Congress-AAP alliance
There is an alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party in the capital Delhi, due to which Lovely has recently resigned from the post of President. After resigning, Lovely said in an official statement that the Delhi Congress unit had objections to the alliance. Even the party high command did not listen to the leaders of the capital and allowed the alliance with AAP. He held All India Congress Committee's Delhi in-charge Deepak Babaria responsible for the internal scam of Delhi Congress. It is noteworthy that voting on seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi is to be held in the sixth phase on May 25.
