As a result of Khel Mahakumbh, Gujarat has produced national and international level players – Harsh Shanghvi

Khel Mahakumbh is organized by the Gujarat government to promote the sportspersons of the state. Due to this Gujarat has got many good players.

Sports Minister Harsh Shanghvi said that 4 new sports have been added in Khel Mahakumbh 2.0 and a player can participate in two sports.

Apart from this, the cash prize amount given to the winning players in the Khel Mahakumbh has also been increased.

Responding in the Assembly on the performance of in-school schools and sportspersons of the state at national and international level, he said that in-school schools, schemes like DLSS, Shaktidoot and organizing Khel Mahakumbh in the state have highlighted the talent of the state. Players living in remote and inaccessible areas of the state have reached national and international level.

Today, by showing their talent in rural and taluka level competitions, players are making Gujarat and India proud at the international level.

With reference to Gir Somnath district, he said that this year more than 1.33 lakh players have registered for Khel Mahakumbh 2.0 in Gir Somnath district.

5 athletes from Gir Somnath district have already achieved state and national level medals in the talent pool and school.
