Arunachal Pradesh will implement Rajasthan's Jan Aadhar model

Jaipur, 6 August (HS). The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has shown keen interest in emulating Rajasthan's initiative of using the Jan Aadhar database to deliver the benefits of public welfare schemes to the needy with complete transparency through direct benefit transfer. In this regard, a high-level delegation of the Arunachal Pradesh government visited Rajasthan.

The delegation, led by Rajendra Sharma, Secretary, Planning and Investment Department, Arunachal Pradesh, met Naveen Jain, Secretary (Planning) to Government of Rajasthan, and received information regarding the Rajasthan model of Jan Aadhar and appreciated it.

The delegation visited the Rajasthan Jan Aadhar Authority located in Yojana Bhawan. Planning Secretary Jain informed the Arunachal government officials about the functioning of the authority, the role of the department in preparing the family database and its need in the state.

The Planning Secretary informed the delegation that through this database, the benefits of the schemes are reaching the real beneficiaries in Rajasthan. This database is playing an unprecedented role in identifying ineligible people in the state and ensuring the reach of schemes to the real beneficiaries, women empowerment and financial inclusion.

Director of Economics and Statistics Department, Vinesh Singhvi welcomed the delegation and discussed about the services being provided through Jan Aadhar in the state.

Joint Director, Jan Aadhar Authority Sitaram Swaroop gave a presentation on various aspects of Jan Aadhar scheme and the challenges faced in implementing the scheme. He gave information on the importance of information and communication technology in the success of Jan Aadhar in the state.

The delegation included Arunachal Pradesh's Planning and Investment Department Secretary Rajendra Sharma, Research Officer K. Paul, Consultant CMO, Soumya Chakraborty.
