Arrest warrant against Robin Uthappa: An arrest warrant has been issued against former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa. A warrant was issued against Uthappa following the allegations in the Provident Fund case. The warrant has been issued by PF Regional Commissioner Shadakshari Gopal Reddy and Pulakeshnagar Police has been asked to take immediate action.
What is the matter?
Indian cricketer Uthappa manages Centuries Lifestyle Brands Pvt. Ltd. He is accused of deducting PF money from the salaries of employed people and not depositing it in their PF accounts. A total embezzlement of Rs 23 lakh has been alleged in this case.
Warrant did not arrive due to change of address
On 4 December, Commissioner Reddy asked the police to issue a warrant against Uthappa, but it backfired as Uthappa had changed his address. Officials are now trying to find his new address. According to the rules, any company which deducts PF from its employees has to deposit that amount in the PF account. Not doing so is considered a violation of law and misuse of money. Uthappa has done the same. It is claimed that the police is now searching for him.
