Lucknow, July 11 (HS). Yonex Sunrise UP State Mini Badminton Championship (Under-11) started on Thursday. More than forty singles matches were held on the first day. Players from various districts of the state displayed their talent. In the quarter finals, Arnab of Moradabad defeated Asmit Kumar of Varanasi in straight sets. Abhay Dixit of Agra defeated Kamya Singh of Lucknow 30-21.
In the quarter finals itself, Arnab of Moradabad defeated Lakshit Raj of Lalitpur 30-17. Abhinav Chaudhary of Saharanpur defeated Pritanjay Agarwal of Ghaziabad 30-9, Aryan of Meerut defeated Kumar of Lucknow 30-26. Mitashi of Meerut defeated Aarna Dwivedi of Kanpur 30-11, Kimya Singh of Lucknow defeated Sansita of Lucknow 30-20, Aabya Singh of Agra defeated Anika Sharma of Kanpur 30-12.
Chief guest Arjun Awardee World No.1 player in Para-Badminton Suhas L.Y. Secretary Sports and Director General Youth Welfare, Uttar Pradesh and special guest Dronacharya Padam Gaurav Khanna inaugurated the competition championship by toss. On this occasion Dr. Sudharma Singh was also present there. In the end, Lucknow Secretary Anil Dhyani expressed gratitude to all the guests and players. Apart from this, Abhijeet Yadav, Dr. Yogesh Shetty, Rajesh Saxena, Chief Judge Championship Ravindra Chauhan, President of Lucknow Badminton Association Ram Mohan Agarwal, Treasurer Sandeep Agarwal etc. were present. The cash prize of this competition is one lakh rupees.
