According to more information received in this regard, a call was received from an unknown person at the customer service center of RBI in Mumbai at 10 am on Saturday. The caller from Pakistan introduced himself as the CEO of Lashkar-e-Taiba. This person claimed that he is the CEO of Lashkar-e-Taiba and should immediately close the back gate of RBI, an electric car has broken down. Saying this the caller disconnected the phone.
The person also asked the person receiving the call to close the back door. After the call was disconnected, the security of the bank took the matter seriously and informed the police and a case was registered at Mata Ramabai Ambedkar (MRA) Marg Police Station and further investigation has been done.
Although initially the police suspected that someone had made this call for mischief, but the police took further action out of caution.
For quite some time now, bomb threat messages and calls have been continuously coming to various top buildings and airlines across the country including Mumbai. It is clear that almost all these calls were made with the intention of spreading fear and rumours. The cyber wing of NIA is currently investigating all these calls thoroughly.
