Army successfully tests indigenously developed portable anti-tank missile system

Indigenously developed 'Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile' (MPATGM) system has been successfully test fired by the Indian Army. This system can be easily moved from one place to another. This system is capable of targeting enemy tanks from anywhere. The successful test paved the way for the MPATGM's induction into the military arsenal. Officials said the missile system has been developed by DRDO. This missile system consists of MPATGM, launcher, target acquisition device and fire control unit.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised DRDO and Army for the successful testing of this missile system. He said that this is an important step towards achieving self-reliance on the front of developing modern technology based defense system. The Defense Ministry said on Sunday that the MPATGM has been tested from multiple perspectives. It was successfully tested at Pokhran Field Firing Range on 13 April. The missile performed amazingly during the test.

This missile system is capable of both day and night operation. DRDO Chairman Sameer V. Kamat also congratulated the units involved in the test.

Just a few days ago, Agni Prime was successfully tested.

A few days ago, India successfully test-fired Agni Prime, a new generation ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads, at the APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, SFC and armed forces on the successful test of the missile with a range of 1000 to 2000 km.
