Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police averted a major accident on NH-44

Jammu, July 2 (HS). A major accident was averted on NH-44 on Tuesday when the brakes of a langar vehicle going from Amarnath to Hoshiarpur, Punjab failed. Quick and courageous action of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police prevented the bus from falling into a drain, saving the lives of 40 passengers.

The incident happened when the bus lost control due to brake failure. Sensing the imminent danger, the Indian Army personnel and JK Police personnel immediately swung into action. They attempted to slow down and eventually stop the bus by placing stones under its tyres. Their quick and decisive efforts successfully stopped the bus, averting a tragic accident.

As the vehicle went out of control, panic spread among the passengers, causing some to jump out of the moving bus. As a result, ten people, including six men, three women and a child, were injured. Army quick reaction teams along with ambulances immediately responded to the emergency. All the injured were provided medical assistance and first aid at a local medical facility in Nachalana. The quick response ensured that the injured received immediate care, preventing any further harm.
