Mumbai: The much awaited metro service of Mumbaikars is starting from tomorrow. At present, Metro One, Metro Two and Metro Seven running in Mumbai run on elevated corridors. Whereas Metro 3, known as Aqualine, is to be run in the underground of Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel in this metro from BKC to Santa Cruz tomorrow at around 6 pm and inaugurate it. This metro service will be available to common citizens from Sunday.
The Prime Minister will then depart to ride the first train on Metro Rail-3 that will run between BKC-Santa Cruz stations. Which connects Colaba-Sipz. Which will become fully operational next year.
Rupee. The first phase of underground Metro Rail-3, built at a cost of Rs 14,120 crore, is 12.44 km. 48 services in each direction or a total of 96 ferries in both directions per day are expected to be available to the public from Sunday.
There are 10 metro stations in this first phase. AR JVLR SIPZ, MIDC, Andheri, Marol Naka CSM. IA- T.2, Sahar Road, CSMIA T-1, Santa Cruz Bandra Colony and the only elevated station B.K.C. Is.
From Monday, these train services will run in this section from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm. It will run at intervals of only 6 minutes during peak hours and at intervals of 15 to 20 minutes during rest hours. Even on Sunday, metro service will remain from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm. This train will reach BKC from Aarey in just 20 minutes. Its ticket will range from Rs 10 to Rs 50. It also has connectivity with Metro One from Marol Naka.
Whereas Metro-3 is 35.50 km. There is an underground line. In which there will be 27 stations from Cuffe Parade to Aire Depot. A major transport project is expected to boost travel between the city and suburbs.
