Moradabad, June 16 (HS). Police Circle Officer Sadar Kotwali Sunita Dhaiya held a press conference in Sadar Kotwali on Sunday and informed about the arrest of the accused of blackmailing and threatening a girl by making an objectionable video of her on the pretext of tantra-mantra. CO Kotwali said that Sadar Kotwali police team arrested Mohammed Aaqib alias Kabir Baba, resident of Mohalla Tihai of police station Mawana in district Meerut today. A mobile phone was recovered from the arrested accused.
Sadar Kotwali Inspector Usha Malik said that a girl resident of the police station area had told in the complaint given three days ago on June 13 that a so-called Baba had deceived her and made an obscene video of her while performing tantra-mantra related activities on video call and was blackmailing her and demanding money. The accused was threatening to make the video viral if the money was not given. The arrested accused Mohammad Aqib told during interrogation that he does the work of tantra-mantra. He takes money from the people who contact him in the name of prayers and secretly makes objectionable videos of them on video call and blackmails them and asks for money. He has told people his name as Kabir Baba.
The arresting police team included Sub Inspector Gaurav Kumar, Constable Shiv Shankar and Shoaib Khan.
