The level of pollution in the capital Delhi and its surrounding areas is continuously increasing. After Diwali, the level of pollution has increased significantly in many states including Delhi. Road dust, vehicle smoke and stubble burning in cities also increase the problem. AQI crossed 400 in many areas of Delhi NCR. Delhiites are also facing difficulty in breathing. This also causes irritation in the eyes.
Average AQI of Delhi is 356
According to the latest update from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's average AQI measured 356 around 8 am today and most areas have AQI above 400 as well. Draksha 2 has also been implemented to control air pollution in Delhi. Day by day the winds of Delhi are also becoming suffocating.
AQI crossed 400 in many areas of Delhi
Many stations like Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Rohini, Dwarka, Patparganj, Vivek Vihar, Wazirpur, Jahangirpuri, Moti Bagh, Bawana and Punjabi Bagh show 400+ (severe) AQI. Many other stations like Lajpat Nagar, RK Puram, Lodhi Road, North Campus have AQI above 370. Not much relief is likely, as wind speeds are calm and climatic conditions are not favorable for dispersion of pollutants. This is despite the fact that after reaching a high of 35% on November 1, it dropped to 15% on November 2.
