The application process for Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) 2024 is going on rapidly. More than 2,03,600 applications have been filed till Thursday evening, and the number is expected to reach 15 lakh. REET exam will be conducted on 27th February 2025.
Challenges related to application
Some candidates have made errors during the application and now they are demanding from the Board of Secondary Education to give them a chance to make corrections in the form. However, Rajasthan Board has clarified that amendments in the form will not be allowed. The last date of application is 15 January 2025, so all the candidates should be especially careful while applying.
D.El.Ed first year result released
The result of D.El.Ed first year has been released, due to which these students will also get a chance to apply for REET. This is likely to further increase the number of applicants.
REET 2024: Exam level and eligibility
- REET Level-1 (Class 1-5):
- Eligibility: 12th pass and BSTC pass.
- REET Level-2 (Class 6-8):
- Eligibility: B.Ed pass.
- Special relaxation: BSTC first year and B.Ed first year students can also apply.
Major changes in syllabus
5 major changes have been made in the syllabus of REET 2024.
1. Topics included in National Education Policy 2020
- Level-1 (Primary):
- New topics like early childhood care and education, basic literacy and numeracy, and equitable and inclusive education have been added to child development and teaching methods.
- Contemporary educational schemes of Rajasthan are also a part of the syllabus.
- A general introduction to Rajasthani language and dialects in Hindi language is included.
- Level-2 (Upper Primary):
- Under the National Education Policy 2020, topics related to teaching methods and setting standards for school education have been added.
2. Changes in other subjects
- Urdu: A new topic has been added.
- Mathematics: Vedic Mathematics topic has been added.
- Environmental Studies: Covers general knowledge of Rajasthan.
3. New options and changes in OMR sheet
- This time there will be five options in the OMR sheet.
- If the answer to the question is not known, the candidate has to click on the 5th option. Otherwise, negative marking will be applicable.
Benefits of passing REET
Candidates who qualify the REET exam are given Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Certificate, which is now valid for life. Earlier this certificate was valid for 3 years, but from 2022 it has been made permanent.
