Shimla, 06 August (HS). Former Union Minister and Hamirpur Lok Sabha MP Anurag Singh Thakur has wished that life in the areas affected by the heavy water tragedy in Himachal Pradesh should be back on track soon and has described the role of everyone's cooperation as important in this.
Anurag Thakur said in a statement on Tuesday that the massive water tragedy caused by cloudburst in Devbhoomi Himachal Pradesh is extremely painful. It is the responsibility of all of us along with the state and central government to ensure our participation in providing relief to the disaster affected people so that this period of crisis ends soon. I wish for the speedy recovery of those injured in this disaster.
Thakur said that the central government is keeping a close watch on the situation arising out of heavy rains in Himachal. The Congress government of Himachal should rise above party politics and give priority to the interests of the state. Boycotting important meetings like Niti Aayog, where major discussions and budgetary demands can be held openly regarding the state's interest, was a short-sighted decision by the Congress. In the interest of the state, the Congress should set aside its ego and avoid such mistakes. In the interest of the state, it should give priority to coordination with the central government instead of its Congress ego and pride.
