He said that his friends as well as his daughter Alia Kashyap helped him get out of depression. During depression, he suffered a heart attack twice and became a severe alcoholic. Anurag Kashyap was in depression for the last two years. After the uproar over the 'Tandav' series, many web shows and films to be released on OTT were either stopped or reworked. Anurag Kashyap's project 'Maximum City' was also a part of this. When the OTT platform withdrew its hands, Anurag Kashyap had to leave this project midway. Due to which he went into depression and suffered a heart attack twice and became seriously addicted to alcohol. During an interview recently, Anurag Kashyap told that his friends as well as his daughter Alia Kashyap helped him get out of depression. He said 'When I was struggling with alcohol addiction. Anubhav Sinha always came to my house. He always kept an eye on me how much alcohol and cigarettes I drink. One day he came to my house and threw away all the liquor bottles along with my daughter.'
