Anuppur, 23 August (HS). Whatever work the officers of the Agriculture Department do in the district, that work should be visible at the ground level, officers should take special care. Provide the benefits of all the schemes run by the Agriculture Department to the farmers on priority basis. And motivate them for agricultural work using modern machines. Paddy transplantation with Paddy Transplanter, spraying of urea with drone, distribution of fertilizers at ground level, discuss with farmers about various facilities for farming, farmers should be motivated to produce crops according to the weather conditions of the district, so that farmers can produce maximum crops.
On Friday, Collector Harshal Pancholi reviewed the works of the Agriculture Department and gave the above instructions to the officials. He took information about fertilizer and seed storage and distribution from the officials of the Agriculture Department and also instructed to motivate farmers to buy Paddy Transplanter Machine. He said that through Paddy Transplanter, it will be easy for farmers to plant paddy and farmers can do better agriculture in less time. In the meeting, the Collector also instructed the officials to give information to the farmers about online application, subsidy, estimated cost etc. for Paddy Transplanter.
During the review of the works of the Horticulture Department, Collector Pancholi directed the officials to prepare a better action plan and plant horticultural crops in the district and encourage farmers to make horticultural crops a profitable business. In the meeting, the Collector obtained information from the officials regarding the nurseries of the district and got information about the quality and different varieties of plants. Make an action plan for what special work can be done by the Horticulture Department in different areas of the district and work with a limited action plan so that the work of the Horticulture Department can progress at the ground level. The plantation done by the Horticulture Department will be inspected. During this, the Collector was also given information about Bakery Industry Kotma, Dairy Food Chamber, Masala Industry and Papad Unit by the Horticulture Department, which was appreciated by the Collector.
Motivate fishermen to produce fish
During the review of the fisheries department, the collector directed the officials to motivate the fishermen of the district to produce fish. He said that the officials should also ensure that fishermen get the benefits of all the schemes run by the fisheries department. The collector was informed in the meeting that 2387 farmers in the rural areas of the district have been provided lease of rural ponds in which they produce fish. He told the collector that 4280 farmers in the district are producing fish and around 1.5 metric tonnes of fish is being produced in the district.
Fisheries officials said that since Anuppur district is a tribal district, the consumption of fish is high here and fish is sold from the district to other places including Shahdol. The collector was told that there are fish farms in Samatpur and Kohka of the district and hatchery (fish seed production) is done in Rajendragram. Deputy Director Agriculture N.D. Gupta, Assistant Director Horticulture Subhash Chandra Srivastava, Assistant Director Fisheries and officers and employees of the concerned department were present in the meeting.
