Meanwhile, he was identified as 38 year old mason Pancham Sahu, son of Natthulal Sahu, resident of village Pipariya. On the night of March 13, Pancham Sahu reached Semwati Bai's house under the influence of alcohol and started forcing himself to have physical relations with her, where when the woman protested, Pancham Sahu got angry and killed Semwati by strangulating her with a pot. Additional Director General of Police D.C. Sagar had announced a cash reward of Rs 30,000 for revealing this blind murder and providing information regarding unknown accused.

Where injury marks were found on the woman's neck and foam was coming out of her nose, on which it was suspected that the woman had died during strangulation. The woman was living in a live-in-relationship. Superintendent of Police Jitendra Singh Pawar said that during the investigation, it was revealed that the deceased, Semwati Singh, resident of village Sakra, was living in a live-in relationship with 35-year-old Rajendra Rathore, son of Lallu Rathore, resident of Rampur Khanda since 2017. Lived in relationship. Rajendra Rathore used to come to meet Semwati Baiga every two to four days. During the incident, Rajendra Rathore had met Semvati two days ago and given her ration and cash and had gone to a wedding in village Seoni.

The Superintendent of Police said that after investigation, other sections including attempt to rape will be increased against the accused.
