Section 2 of the Act explains the difference between faith and superstition. According to which, now it is a crime in the state of Gujarat to do, propagate and spread human sacrifice, cruel practice, black magic or other such inhuman and evil acts.
Apart from this, in the name of removing ghost, witch or evil spirit from a person's body, tying a person with rope or chain, beating with a stick or whip, making him drink chilli or hanging from the ceiling by holding the hair etc. Forcibly pouring water in a person's mouth or applying water soaked with shoes, feces or doing any other inhuman act on the body is a crime under the law. Apart from this, if a person tries to earn money by doing so-called miracles in the state, then that is also a crime.
