Answer sought from Anjuman Intezamia Masajid in Gyanvapi Wazukhana survey case

Prayagraj, 09 July (HS). The Allahabad High Court, while hearing a monitoring petition seeking a scientific survey of the Wazukhana located in the Gyanvapi complex of Varanasi by the ASI, has sought a reply from the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid within four weeks.
This order has been given by Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal. In the monitoring petition filed by the plaintiff Rakhi Singh in the Shringar Gauri case, it has been said that the District Judge of Varanasi had refused to order a survey of the Wazukhana by the ASI on 21 October 2023, citing the order of the Supreme Court.

The temple side says that the scientific survey of ASI will not cause any harm to the Wazukhana. The Supreme Court order will also not be violated. Because there is an order to protect and preserve the Wazukhana area, it has not been sealed. In the monitoring petition, a demand has been made to direct the ASI to conduct a survey of the inner part of the Wazukhana.

Earlier on 22 May, the concerned court was informed that the Chief Justice has designated this monitoring petition to another single bench for hearing the case. After this, the said single bench sent the file to the Chief Justice for nominating a suitable bench. On this monitoring petition filed against the order of District Judge Varanasi, notice was issued to opponent number four Anjuman Intezamia Masjid on 31 January. The date for hearing has been fixed as 14 August.
