Koderma, June 17 (HS). One more name has been added to the list of martyrs in Bhakhara village of Satgawan police station area of the district. Uma Charan Paswan (54), son of Sitaram Paswan, resident of Bhakhara, died on Sunday during treatment in Delhi. He was working as SI in CRPF. He was injured and fell unconscious on February 16 due to the attack of farmers during the farmers' movement that took place three months ago.
He was admitted to Delhi Hospital and was undergoing treatment. But he suddenly passed away on Sunday. On hearing this news, there was mourning in the village and the area. It is said that martyr Umacharan Paswan had joined CRPF in 1992 and had also contributed to the security of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for 2 years.
His daughter Nishu Kumari's marriage was to take place in April in Mahuli, Nawada, Bihar. But the marriage was postponed due to his injuries in an attack during the farmers' movement. According to the family, he has two sons and five daughters. His body is being brought to Bhakra, the last rites are expected to take place on Tuesday.
It is known that this Bhakra village of Satgawan is famous for the name of martyrs and earlier also during the tragedy in Uttarakhand, Santosh Paswan was martyred in a helicopter crash during disaster relief and rescue work.
