Another setback for Kejriwal, no relief from Supreme Court, Delhi High Court's stay will continue for two more days

On Kejriwal's bail plea, the Supreme Court said that The Delhi High Court stayed the order of the Rouse Avenue Court granting bail in the money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise Policy. After this, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has appealed to the Supreme Court. On behalf of Kejriwal, his lawyer argued that the High Court's stay on the bail granted to our client is a violation of the judicial process. After the debate in this matter, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of Kejriwal's case till Wednesday without giving any decision or relief.

What happened in the Supreme Court?

While hearing the case, the Supreme Court clearly told Kejriwal and his lawyer that you should first withdraw the petition filed in the Delhi High Court and only then come to us. During the hearing, Kejriwal's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the High Court's stay is a violation of the judicial process. After this, Justice Manoj Mishra said that the High Court is going to pronounce the verdict today. On this, Singhvi said that if the bail is cancelled, then our client Kejriwal will go to jail again.

What argument did Kejriwal's lawyer give?

Before the hearing in the Supreme Court, Kejriwal's petition was heard in the Delhi High Court. Where the bail order of the Rouse Avenue Court was stayed. Now the Supreme Court heard the case. During the hearing before the bench of Justice Manoj Mishra and Justice S.V.N. Bhatti in the Supreme Court, the petitioner said that the High Court is not hearing his petition because such a case is pending in the Supreme Court. While hearing the case, the Supreme Court told the High Court to withdraw the petition and then come to us.

What did the Supreme Court say?

While hearing this case, the Supreme Court said that we will hear the case on Wednesday. That is, we will wait for the order of the High Court. For now, the status quo will remain. We hope that the hearing will take place on Wednesday and the Delhi High Court will give some order. Since the High Court has reserved the order, our interference is not appropriate.
