Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has filed another petition in the High Court against the summons of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the liquor policy scam case. Kejriwal has told the court that he is ready to appear before the ED but he should be assured that the investigating agency will not arrest him.

Senior lawyers Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vikram Chaudhary had presented Kejriwal's side in the court on March 20. He said- ED has arrested AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh. The investigating agency can also arrest Kejriwal. He said- Kejriwal is not running away.

The lawyer said that he would come forward provided he is given security. However, the ED did not say whether it was summoning him as an accused, suspect or witness. On this the court said that only after his appearance it will be known whether he is being called as an accused or as a witness.

A division bench of the Delhi High Court headed by Justice Suresh Kumar Kait will hear Kejriwal's plea on Thursday. Today ED has called Kejriwal for questioning in the liquor scam case. The 9th summons was sent to the CM on 17 March. On March 19, Kejriwal had reached the High Court against the summons. His petition was heard on 20 March.

The court directed the ED to send summons again and again. The investigating agency has been given two weeks to present its side. In the liquor policy case, summons were sent to Kejriwal on 27 February, 26 February, 22 February, 2 February, 17 January, 3 January this year and on 21 December and 2 November in 2023. However, he has not gone for questioning even once.
