Another list of Congress candidates declared, know who is the candidate on 3 seats of Bengal?

After the announcement of 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress has released another list of candidates. Candidates have been announced for three seats in West Bengal. In this, veteran party leader Pradeep Vishwas has been given ticket from the reserved Lok Sabha seat of Bangaon. BJP's candidate from here is Union Minister Shantanu Thakur.

Who is the candidate on these 2 seats?

Bangaon is an area dominated by the “Matua” refugee community of Bangladesh, who are happy after the recent implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) by the central government. Apart from this, Congress has made Azhar Malik the candidate from Uluberia Lok Sabha seat of Howrah district. Whereas Dr. Papiya Chakraborty has been made the candidate from Ghatal Lok Sabha seat.

Congress has announced 240 candidates

Congress has announced the 13th list of candidates on Sunday. Congress has announced candidates for 240 Lok Sabha seats across the country. It is noteworthy that this time Lok Sabha elections will be held in 7 phases across the country and the results will be declared on June 4, 2024.

When is voting for which seat in West Bengal?

  • Voting will be held in 7 phases on 42 Lok Sabha seats of West Bengal, which includes Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri seats in the first phase (April 19).
  • In the second phase i.e. on 26th April, voting will be held on Darjeeling, Raiganj and Balurghat seats.
  • The third phase of voting will be held on May 7 in Lada North, Malda South, Jangipur and Murshidabad. In the fourth phase i.e. on May 13, voting will be held in Behrampur, Krishnanagar, Ranaghat, Bardhaman East, Bardhaman-Durgapur, Asansol, Bholpur and Birbhum.
  • Bongaon, Barrackpore, Howrah, Uluberia, Shrirampur, Hooghly and Arambagh go to polls in the fifth phase on May 20.
  • In the sixth phase (May 25), voting will be held in Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Vishnupur.
  • In the seventh i.e. last phase, voting will be held on June 1 in Dumdum, Barasat, Basirhat, Jaynagar, Mathurapur, Diamond Harbour, Jadavpur, Kolkata South and Kolkata North.
