The report alleges that the Indian PM was aware of the conspiracy to kill Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
India’s Foreign Ministry responded
The Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling these news published in the Canadian newspaper ridiculous. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘We generally do not comment on media reports. However, such ridiculous statements in a newspaper purportedly coming from a Canadian government source should be ignored with the contempt they deserve. It further said that such defamation campaigns are further damaging already strained relations.

A Canadian newspaper report quoting an unnamed Canadian national security official has claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was aware of a plot to kill alleged Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. In this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were also briefed. However, the report also states that Canada has no concrete evidence against Prime Minister Modi to support this claim.
