Death of Indian-American student in America: Another case of death of an Indian student has come to light in America. In fact, the body of Indian student Mohammad Abdul Arafat, who went missing last month, has been found in Cleveland, America. This is the second incident in a week when an Indian student has died in America. Mohammad Abdul Arafat was a resident of Nacharam, Hyderabad, India and had moved to the US in May last year to pursue a Masters in IT from Cleveland University.
Last spoke to family on March 7
Arafat's father Mohammed Salim said that he last spoke to Arafat on March 7, after which he had no contact with the family. His mobile phone was also switched off. The young man who lived with Arafat told Arafat's father that he had filed a missing complaint with the police. On March 19, Arafat's family received an anonymous call stating that Arafat had been kidnapped by a drug gang and demanding $1,200 for his release. Arafat's father said, 'The caller threatened to sell Arafat's kidney if the ransom was not paid.' Mohammad Salim said, 'When we asked the caller how to make the payment, he did not give information about it. When we talked to our son, he refused.
The embassy has expressed condolences on the death of the student
The Indian Embassy in New York has expressed grief over the death of the student. He wrote on this, “We are in touch with local agencies for this. All possible assistance is being provided to the family to bring back the body of the student to India.”
Many students will die in America from January 2024
On April 6, news of the death of an Indian student named Uma Satya Sai Gadde came to light. The student was studying in Cleveland, Ohio. Since the beginning of 2024, many Indians and students of Indian origin have died in America. Now the case of Mohammad Abdul Arafat's death has also come to light.
Indian students are being targeted in America
Last month i.e. in March, 20 year old Indian student Abhijeet Paruchuru was murdered in America. He was a resident of Burripalem in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. Abhijeet studied engineering from Boston University. According to the student's family, he was murdered by an unknown person on the university campus on March 11 and his body was left in a car in the forest. Earlier, Neel Acharya, a student of Indian origin studying at Purdue University, was also found dead. Indian student Shreyas Reddy was also murdered. Vivek Saini, living in Georgia, America, was also found dead.
