Bangladesh violence: Violence is not showing any signs of decreasing in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, an incident of setting fire at the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Namhatta Center has come to light in Dhaka. Many items kept in ISKCON Namhatta center were burnt. It is noteworthy that there are continuous attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh and many Hindu temples are being targeted by extremists.
Increasing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh is a cause for concern
There have been continuous attacks on minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh during the rule of the interim government of Bangladesh led by Mohammad Yunus. Increasing incidents of violence against Hindus in India are fueling protests. The atmosphere in Bangladesh has deteriorated after the arrest of Chinmay Krishna Das, associated with ISKCON. Attacks by extremists on the Hindu community have increased. On which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee requested to deploy United Nations Peace Mission in Bangladesh.
Uproar over the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das
Chinmoy Krishna Das, associated with Samilit Sanat Jote, was arrested in Dhaka on 25 November on charges of treason. The arrest followed a complaint by a local leader on October 31, accusing Chinmoy Krishna Das and others of insulting the Bangladeshi national flag during a Hindu community rally. After which the situation again became abnormal in Bangladesh.
