What did the Meteorological Department say?
The weather department said a low pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal off the coast of northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal. Heavy rainfall (7 cm to 11 cm) is expected at isolated places over Balasore district and moderate rainfall over North Odisha districts from Friday.

The Meteorological Department has warned fishermen not to venture into the sea on Thursday and Friday as the sea conditions are expected to remain rough. Fishermen were advised to return to the coast by Thursday. The Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha has requested the District Magistrates to remain alert and be prepared to face any situation.
Wind will blow at a speed of 70 kilometers per hour
The Meteorological Department said that winds can blow at a speed of 35-45 km per hour to 55 km per hour in the Bay of Bengal. It will gradually increase to 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph in the Bay of Bengal. The department said that from Friday morning, winds can blow at a speed of 50-60 km per hour and can reach 70 km per hour.
Severe heat likely to continue till May 26: Meteorological Department
Mild to severe heat is expected to continue in the plains of North-West India, North Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat for the next five days. The Meteorological Department gave this information on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department bulletin said that from May 22 to 26, heat wave will continue in isolated areas of West Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh and North West Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.
