A bridge built on the Gandaki river connecting Saraiya and Satua Panchayat in Baniyapur block of Saran district collapsed today. Earlier on Wednesday, two bridges had collapsed. This is the third incident today.

Local people told that now one has to cover a distance of five kilometers to reach Satua Bazaar. One has to go through Lauwa and Baniyapur. This bridge was constructed five years ago at the panchayat level. On the other hand, three bridges have collapsed in Saran, but the District Magistrate is not aware of it. Two bridges collapsed on Wednesday
On Wednesday, bridges collapsed at two different places. It is noteworthy that on Wednesday night at around 12 o'clock, the bridge built near Baba Dhodha Nath temple in Lahladpur block of Janata Bazar police station area of Chhapra suddenly collapsed. This bridge was built on the Gandaki river. Traffic has been disrupted due to the sudden collapse of the bridge. A parallel bridge was built in 2004 near the British-era bridge on the Gandaki river. Now it has collapsed due to water erosion.
On the other hand, the bridge built on the Gandaki river in Saran village of Dandaspur Panchayat of Lahladpur block collapsed on Wednesday. One bridge collapsed near Dhodhanath temple and the other 500 meters away. This bridge built in Saran village is about a hundred years old. According to the local people, the process of bridge collapse is continuing. Due to the collapse of the bridge, connectivity of more than a dozen villages has been cut off. This has also become a problem for children going from one village to another for studies.
