Manish Sisodia gets bail: Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was in jail for the last 17 months in the liquor scam, has got bail. The court has granted bail. However, after this order of the court, Manish Sisodia will now be able to come out of jail after 17 months. The court has said in its decision that the hearing of this case is not likely to be completed in the future.
On one hand, this decision has brought happiness among Aam Aadmi Party leaders, while on the other hand, ED has suffered a major setback. Along with granting bail, the court has also rejected another demand of ED.
ED had demanded from the court that Manish Sisodia should not be allowed to enter the secretariat and CM office. Such restrictions were also applicable on Arvind Kejriwal. However, the court has refused to accept this demand of ED. However, he has been ordered to follow some rules.
Sisodia got bail on these conditions
While granting bail, the Supreme Court said that 'Manish Sisodia is a respected person of the society and there is no possibility of him absconding. Most of the evidence in this case has been collected and there is no possibility of tampering. However, conditions can be imposed on witnesses in case of influence or threat.' The Supreme Court has granted bail to Manish Sisodia on a bond of Rs 10 lakh. Apart from this, two major conditions have also been kept. In which the first condition is that he will have to submit his passport. And the second condition is that he (Deputy CM) will have to appear at the police station every Monday and Thursday.
