Another ally of NDA has given a shock to BJP and announced to field candidates on 10 seats in Jharkhand.

Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said on October 10 that our party Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) will field candidates on at least 10 seats in the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. We (secular) are part of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre.

Hum Party will contest elections on at least 10 seats

Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi told the media in Patna, 'Our party is a committed member of the NDA and will ultimately follow whatever arrangement is made in the BJP-led alliance regarding the Jharkhand assembly elections. One thing is certain. We will definitely contest the next assembly elections in Jharkhand and I recently addressed a rally in Chatra, Jharkhand and announced that the party will contest at least 10 seats.

Jitan Ram Manjhi further said, 'Our party is a part of NDA. After discussing with other NDA allies in Jharkhand, whatever arrangement is made regarding seat sharing, I will accept it. But, we will contest Jharkhand assembly elections, this is absolutely clear. Hindustani Awam Morcha founder Jitan Ram Manjhi was elected MP from Gaya seat in Bihar in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Nitish Kumar had named Manjhi as his option for the post of Chief Minister.

In 2014, Manjhi was considered by Nitish Kumar as an option for Chief Minister, following Nitish Kumar's resignation following his defeat in the Lok Sabha elections that year, he was tasked to hold the post temporarily. Before becoming the Chief Minister, Manjhi served as the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Minister in Nitish Kumar's cabinet. He was also a minister in the RJD government of Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabi Devi from 1996 to 2005.
