Saharsa, 5 August (HS). These days the energy department of Bihar is constantly in the news for the wrong reasons. On 25 July, national youth leader Anupam and RTI activist Anil Kumar Singh held a press conference and demanded action against Sanjeev Hans, after which the Bihar government was forced to remove IAS Sanjeev Hans from the post. In this episode, a surprising fact has now been revealed.
National Movement 'Yuva Halla Bol's Executive President Govind Mishra, General Secretary Prashant Kamal, Rajat Yadav and Corruption Free Kosi Awareness Campaign Convenor Anil Kumar Singh addressed a press conference in Saharsa on Monday and exposed many facts related to the electricity department. Youth leader Prashant Kamal addressed the press conference and said that the project of installing smart meters is being run at the national level. In Bihar too, the work of installing prepaid smart meters is going on at a fast pace. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also congratulated the Energy Minister for this work.
The Energy Minister himself has patted his back several times for this work and has called Bihar the leading state in the country in installing smart meters. It is being claimed that this work will be carried out at a fast pace by giving priority to the urban areas. Employees of the Energy Department have also been encouraged for this work, but smart meters are being opposed in different corners of Bihar. People are fed up with complaining about the increase in bills. Despite the matter being raised in the Assembly, the Energy Minister has described smart meters as an excellent example of digital governance. Despite the doubts and anger of the people towards smart meters, lakhs of prepaid smart meters are being installed by removing the old meters, but it is surprising that the Energy Minister himself has not installed a prepaid smart meter in his house.
Neither a smart meter is installed at his residence in Supaul nor a smart prepaid meter is installed at his residence in Patna. Allegations of scam in prepaid smart meters are often made. But the minister not getting a smart meter installed in his own house increases the doubts even more. Youth leader Prashant Kamal insisted and asked that if there is no problem in the smart meter then why is the minister not getting it installed in his house. The minister should give a satisfactory answer to this.
