Anger in the High Court Bar also due to the order of criminal contempt on senior advocate | News India

Prayagraj, 30 September (HS). The High Court Bar Association has condemned the ordering of criminal contempt against senior advocate and former Advocate General Satish Chandra Mishra. Supporting the proposal of Awadh Bar Association, it has demanded transfer of Justice Sangeeta Chandra to the High Court of any other state.

The UP Bar Council has also not accepted the High Court order in the case of Satish Chandra Mishra as correct and has demanded from the Supreme Court to take away judicial work from the High Court judge who passed the order and transfer him to some other state.

In the meeting chaired by Association President Anil Tiwari and conducted by General Secretary Vikrant Pandey, a demand was made to transfer Justice Sangeeta Chandra of Lucknow Bench to the High Court of any other state. It was said in the meeting that senior advocate Satish Chandra Mishra is also the former president of UP Bar Council and a several-time Rajya Sabha MP. He is very soft-spoken, polite and simple. The High Court Bar Association, like the Awadh Bar Association and the UP Bar Council, strongly condemns ordering criminal contempt against such a person. Also, for this, there is a demand to transfer Justice Sangeeta Chandra to the High Court of the state.

It was also demanded that he should not be given any kind of judicial work till the transfer takes place. Senior Vice President Rajesh Khare, Vice President Agnihotri Kumar Tripathi, Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Subhash Chandra Yadav, Neeraj Tripathi and Neelam Shukla, Joint Secretary Administration Sumit Kumar Srivastava, Joint Secretary Library Abhijeet Kumar Pandey, Joint Secretary Press Puneet Kumar Shukla, Joint Secretary Women were present in the meeting. Aanchal Ojha, Treasurer Ranvijay Singh and Governing Council members Odisha Tripathi, Kiran Singh, Awadhesh Kumar Mishra, Abhishek Tiwari, Sachchidanand Yadav, Dinesh Yadav, Sarveshwar Lal Srivastava, Ved Prakash Ojha and Brajesh Kumar Singh Sengar were present.
