Anderson set to play farewell Test for England, 13 wickets away from 1,000 milestone

England's experienced fast bowler James Anderson will take the field on Wednesday to play the farewell test of his Test career. The first Test match between England and West Indies will start on Wednesday. Anderson, who made his debut for England in 2002, is the most successful bowler.

In his last Test match, he has a chance to become the world's most successful fast bowler and to do so he needs 13 wickets. Anderson has played 187 Tests so far and has 700 wickets to his name. He has taken 269 wickets in 194 ODIs and 18 wickets in 19 T20s. In the 401st match of his career, Anderson would like to leave with a historic performance.

Anderson, popularly known as Jimmy, is 13 wickets away from the magical milestone of 1,000 wickets. If he takes 13 wickets in the final Test, he will become the first fast bowler in the world to take 1000 wickets. Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan and Australia's Shane Warne have taken more than 1,000 wickets in total in world cricket. Muralidhar took 1,347 wickets and Warne took 1,001 wickets. Anderson said, “I want to go after taking all 20 wickets in the match.”
