Jaipur, July 4 (HS). Medical Minister Gajendra Singh said in the state assembly on Thursday that an RAC battalion has been deployed to curb the incidents of robbery in Baran district by the Pardi gang of Guna region of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, 6 checkposts and 8 police posts have also been established. He said that due to more incidents of robbery in the areas bordering Madhya Pradesh, the number of policemen will be increased there.
The Medical and Health Minister was answering the supplementary questions asked by the members in this regard on behalf of the Home Minister during the Question Hour. He said that the Pardhi Gang of Guna region of Madhya Pradesh goes back to Madhya Pradesh after committing robbery and dacoity in the border areas of the state. To prevent such incidents and to nab the criminals, the State Police regularly organizes interstate meetings with the Madhya Pradesh Police from the level of Thanadhikari to Inspector General of Police Range. He informed that there are a total of 16 RAC battalions in the state and each battalion has 75 constables. Taking seriously the incidents of robbery being committed by the Pardhi Gang in Baran, the State Government has deployed a full battalion in the district, along with 146 police personnel.
Earlier, in a written reply to the original question of MLA Lalit Meena, the Health and Family Welfare Minister said that to prevent the crimes (robbery and dacoity) committed in the state by the Pardhi Gang of Guna area of Madhya Pradesh bordering Kishanganj Assembly constituency, the State Police organizes interstate meetings with the Madhya Pradesh Police from time to time from the level of Thanadhikari to Inspector General of Police Range, in which lists of wanted criminals are exchanged and necessary guidelines are provided for the arrest of as many wanted criminals as possible. 6 checkposts have been set up on the border of Kishanganj Assembly constituency, which are blocked from time to time by deploying armed police force. District Baran and Madhya Pradesh Police announce appropriate rewards from time to time on the wanted criminals of the Pardhi Gang and the informer system has been activated.
Singh said that in the last 3 years till now a total of 5 cases of robbery and dacoity have been registered against the Pardhi gang in the state, out of which 4 cases have been resolved and one case is pending. He said that in the border police stations of Kishanganj Vidhansabha, night patrolling is done by deploying contingent at police station level. Police Headquarters has provided one company of RAC to Baran district as reserve force for law and order for special operation evening foot patrol and blockade. From time to time RAC contingent will be made available for patrolling in the border police stations of Kishanganj Vidhansabha on the basis of availability.
