Mirzapur, 21 August (HS). An old man who had come from Varanasi to visit Bhaladaria Dari Baiju Baba Tapobhoomi under Ahrora police station area with his other friends on Wednesday was swept away by the sudden rise in water level in the waterfall. Police recovered the body of the old man with the help of divers.
60-year-old Anand Gupta, a resident of Sonarpura in Bhelupur police station area of Varanasi district, had come to visit Bhaladaria Dari Baiju Baba Tapobhoomi in Ahraura along with his five other companions. While bathing, the old man was swept away in the strong current of water due to sudden rise in water level in the waterfall. Ahraura police, which reached the spot after getting the information, recovered the body of Anand Gupta with the help of SDRF. While all other companions are safe. Police sent the body of the deceased for post-mortem and started legal proceedings.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) OP Singh said that the body of the deceased has been recovered with the help of SDRF. His other companions are safe.
