An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Balochistan, Pakistan

Earthquake tremors have been felt in Balochistan, Pakistan. The tremors of this earthquake were felt on Tuesday. However, the earthquake's tremors were not so strong, due to which many people did not know about it. Its intensity was measured at 5.4 on the Richter scale. However, there is no news of any casualty.

Tremors were felt here too

An official of the Meteorological Department said that the epicenter of the earthquake was 150 km northwest of Quetta at a depth of 35 km. According to the information, earthquake tremors were felt in the capital Quetta, Noshki, Chagi, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Dalbadin, Pishin and some other areas of the province.

There is no information about any casualties

Pakistan Meteorological Department said that earthquake tremors were also felt in Pakistan-Iran border areas. At present there is no information about any casualty.

There have been many major earthquakes before

  • Many powerful earthquakes have already occurred in Balochistan province, in which people have lost their lives. Houses and buildings were also damaged. An earthquake in the Harnai region of Balochistan in October 2021 killed 40 people and injured 300 others.
  • In September 2013, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck several areas of Balochistan, killing at least 348 people. More than 300,000 people were affected in Awaran and Kech districts.
  • Two days after the incident, another powerful earthquake of 6.8 magnitude hit Awaran district and other areas, killing seven people and injuring many.
